Shield laws in states including Arkansas have allowed clinicians in pro-abortion states to mail abortion pills to residents of Arkansas, contributing to a nearly 14% decrease in abortion travel and a nearly 200% increase in telehealth abortions between 2023 and 2024. Despite these changes, over 60,000 women from states with total abortion bans, including Arkansas, still traveled out of state for abortions in 2025.
